Motorcycle Accident Lawyers

Riders carry the heaviest consequences of a crash. We help motorcyclists across BC access their Enhanced Care benefits, document serious injuries properly, and rebuild after a collision.

Motorcyclists know the road differently than anyone else, and unfortunately they also carry the heaviest consequences when something goes wrong. A crash that would dent a car can put a rider in hospital for weeks. If you are hurting, off your bike, and unsure how the next few months will look, that uncertainty is completely understandable. You do not have to work through an insurance claim alone while your body is trying to recover.

Since May 1, 2021, most crashes in British Columbia fall under ICBC's Enhanced Care, and that includes motorcycle collisions. In most cases you cannot sue the other driver. Instead you claim benefits through ICBC, such as medical and rehabilitation treatment, income replacement if you cannot work, and care support while you heal. There are narrow exceptions, and we can tell you honestly whether any of them apply to your crash.

Rider injuries are often significant, including fractures, road rash, and head and spinal injuries, and they frequently take longer to heal than anyone hopes. That makes documentation especially important. See your doctor regularly, report every symptom, and keep simple notes about pain, sleep, and what you can and cannot do. Benefits follow your medical picture, so a clear and honest record protects both your health and your claim.

Riders sometimes worry about how their gear, their bike, or old assumptions about motorcyclists will affect their claim. Bring those worries to us rather than carrying them quietly. Under a no-fault system your benefits generally do not depend on proving fault, and every rider deserves to be heard fairly. Your first case evaluation is free, with no obligation, and we will give you a straight answer about where you stand.

How we can help

  • Starting your ICBC claim

We help you report the crash and set up your Enhanced Care claim so your benefits begin without delay.

  • Serious injury benefits

For severe injuries, we pursue the higher levels of care, support, and permanent impairment benefits available to riders.

  • Treatment and rehabilitation

We help fund physiotherapy, counselling, and specialist care, and push back when ICBC cuts that funding short.

  • Income replacement

If your injuries keep you from working, we help secure income replacement and question amounts that look low.

  • Documenting your recovery

We help build a medical record that reflects the real impact of your injuries on your work and daily life.

  • Disputes with ICBC

If benefits are reduced, delayed, or denied, we challenge the decision, including at the Civil Resolution Tribunal.

Common questions

Am I covered by Enhanced Care as a motorcyclist?

Yes. Motorcycle crashes in BC generally fall under the same Enhanced Care system as other vehicles, so you can claim benefits such as medical treatment, income replacement, and care support through ICBC. Because rider injuries are often serious, the higher levels of support can matter a great deal in your case.

Will my claim be treated fairly if I was on a bike?

It should be, and we work to make sure it is. Under the no-fault system, your benefits generally do not depend on proving who caused the crash. If you feel your injuries are being minimized or your file is not being taken seriously, that is exactly the kind of situation we help with.

Does it matter what gear I was wearing?

Focus on your recovery rather than second guessing yourself. Questions about gear come up sometimes, and the answer depends on the details of your situation, so we would rather review yours than offer a blanket rule. What matters most right now is medical care, honest documentation, and getting your claim started properly.

Can I sue the driver who hit me?

For most crashes on or after May 1, 2021, no. BC moved to a no-fault system, so riders claim benefits through ICBC instead of suing. There are narrow exceptions, such as when the at-fault driver is convicted of certain criminal offences. We can review your crash and explain exactly which rules apply.

My injuries will take months to heal. What support exists?

Enhanced Care ties support to your recovery rather than a fixed payment, so treatment funding, income replacement, and care benefits can continue while you heal, with greater support for serious and lasting injuries. ICBC decides on that support along the way, and we help you dispute decisions that fall short.

What happens at the free case evaluation?

We listen to what happened, look at your injuries and your ICBC file so far, and explain how Enhanced Care applies to your crash. You get honest answers about your benefits, your deadlines, and whether a lawyer would genuinely help. There is no fee and no obligation to go further.
