Working With Us
What to expect when you contact us
Talking to a lawyer should not feel intimidating. Here is exactly what happens when you reach out, from the first hello to the day your matter is resolved.
The four steps, in plain language
Reach out in whatever way feels easiest
Call 1 (604) 736-3632, send a message through our contact form, or use the chat on this site. Tell us in your own words what is going on. You do not need to know the legal name for your problem, and you do not need to have documents ready just to start the conversation.
We listen, then give you a clear read
Your first case evaluation is free and carries no obligation. We ask a few questions to understand what happened, explain how the law treats situations like yours, and lay out your realistic options in plain language. If we think you do not need a lawyer, we will tell you that too.
You decide, on your own timeline
There is no pressure at the end of the conversation. If you choose to work with us, we confirm the scope of the work and what happens next before anything begins. Until you formally retain the firm, you have not committed to anything.
We keep you informed while your matter moves
Legal matters can take time, and silence is stressful. As your matter progresses we explain each step before it happens, tell you what we need from you, and make sure you understand every document before you sign it.
Helpful to bring, never required
You can reach out with nothing at all. If you do have any of these, they help us give you a sharper answer sooner.
- Any papers you have received, such as letters, notices, court documents, or offers. Unopened envelopes are fine too.
- A short timeline of what happened, even rough notes help.
- Names of the other people or companies involved, so we can check for conflicts.
- Photos, messages, or records that relate to your situation, if you have them.
- Your questions. No question is too small, and the ones that worry you most are usually the right ones to ask.
Common questions about getting started
Is the conversation really confidential?
Yes. What you share with us stays private, and conversations with a lawyer are protected. You can speak openly about your situation, including the parts you find difficult, and that honesty helps us give you accurate guidance.
Does contacting you mean I have hired a lawyer?
No. Reaching out and having a case evaluation does not create a lawyer and client relationship. That only happens if we both agree to work together and you formally retain the firm, so you can ask your questions freely first.
Can we meet in person?
Yes. Our head office is in Surrey, and we meet clients by appointment at our offices in Abbotsford, Delta, Langley, New Westminster, Port Coquitlam, Richmond, Vancouver and Victoria. Many matters can also start with a phone call if that is easier for you.
What if English is not my first language?
We serve clients in English, French, Punjabi, Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Sinhalese, Tamil and Spanish. Tell us which language you are most comfortable in when you reach out and we will do our best to accommodate you.
What if my problem is not really a legal problem?
Then we will say so, kindly and clearly. Part of the free case evaluation is an honest read on whether you need a lawyer at all. If someone else can help you better, we will point you in the right direction.
Ready when you are: call 1 (604) 736-3632 or start with a free case evaluation.
